President Robert "Bob" Potter & Syracuse Fire Chief Thomas Hanlon

Former CNY and National SPAAMFAA President Robert "Bob" Potter Drivers his Model "A" - Strawberry Hill, up Salina Street in Syracuse NY as part of muster # 1 in 1958. His officer on this day was none other than the Chief of the Syracuse Fire Department, Thomas Hanlon.

Former Syracuse Fire Department Truck 7

This group was heading to the 1965 NY State Firemans Convention in Rochester NY.  They are in font of a 1930  85' Seagrave Hook & Ladder that was owned by SPAAMFAA founder Dick Hortsmann at that time. Dick had purchased this truck from the City of Syracuse on April 21 1959 for $365.00. At the time of purchase it was known as Truck 8 and housed at 1410 Madison St. in Syracuse.   Pictured standing next to the rig from the left are H. "Tom" Laun, second man from left unknown, Dave Sinclair, Alex Black, Steve Ternlund, Carl Schaapman and George Slattery. On the rig were (from left) Mike Waters, John Judge, Dick Horstmann and Steve Powell.

Promoting Syracuse FD 2nd annual Fire Rama which was to take place October 9, 1962.

The rig above says SFD   No. 21 on it. It is carrying a sign promoting Syracuse Fire Departments 2nd annual "Fire Rama". The smaller posters to each end of the Fire Rama sign are promoting the Annual Fireman's Ball to be held at the Onondaga Co. War Memorial, Friday October 12, 1962.

CNY and SPAAMFAA member, North Syracuse Fireman's Association currently are the owners of another former City of Syracuse Fire Engine. 1923 American LaFrance 750 GPM Serial No. #4155 Pumper formally Engine #11, at 901 Teall Ave.
