On June 5, 2009 three rigs owned by CNY SPAAMFAA members
participated in the annual parade in Weedsport NY.
Under skies that at times seemed to threaten rain, the
crowds that lined the 2 mile long parade route seemed to really enjoy and appreciate the beautiful old apparattus as it passed
by in the first division of the line up.
I know as one of the participants, we were made to feel welcome and appreciated.
The three rigs belonging to members of our group
are pictured in the staging area before the parade. From Left to Right they include The Henderson's 1935 Mack BQ Tractor
Drawn 75' aerial (Ex Bradford PA) which was driven by Tom Henderson with his son Brad as the Tillerman. Next in
line is Gary Thurstons 1961 Mack type B95 Sedan Cab 1000 GPM Pumper (Ex Bryan Ohio) which was driven by Mike Randall. Rounding
out the pictured lineup is Gary Thurstons 1948 Sedan Cab Mack LS - 750 GPM Pumper (Originally delivered to Selinsgrove
PA and also previously owned by Harvey Eckart) which was driven by Barry S. Lasky.
